Medical Representative Duties and ResponsibilitiesA medical representative should have excellent customer service skills. They should be able to meet or exceed the companys sales targets. Following are the duties of a medical representative:
• Selling the companys medications to physicians, pharmacists, and other pertinent medical experts.
• Making appointments with physicians, pharmacists, and other medical experts to promote brand-name medicines.
• Developing an extensive understanding of company medications.
• Establishing and preserving positive business relationships with clients to promote repeat business.
• Following up on leads the company has generated.
• Putting together presentations for prospective clients.
• Investigating the medicines of rival companies and each ones market performance.
• Keeping up with new advances in the medical industry to assess how they might affect the companys business strategies.
• Reviewing sales performance and writing reports.
• Develop and implement brand strategies with the sales team to provide a unified marketing message.
