Job Description

  • Have a strong understanding of large scale computing solutions. The ideal candidate will have past experience working as a systems or support engineer, and pre-sales experience. You will enjoy keeping your existing technical skills honed and developing new ones, so you can make strong contributions to deep architecture discussions. You will regularly take part in deep-dive education and design exercises to create world-class solutions built on AWS.
  • Roles and Responsibilities
  • In partnership with the sales team, formulate and execute a sales strategy to exceed revenue objectives through the adoption of AWS
  • As a key member of the business development and sales team, ensure success in building and migrating applications, software and services on the AWS platform
  • Educate customers of all sizes on the value proposition of AWS, and participate in deep architectural discussions to ensure solutions are designed for successful deployment in the cloud
  • Conduct one-to-few and one-to-many training sessions to transfer knowledge to customers considering or already using AWS
  • Capture and share best-practice knowledge amongst the AWS solutions architect community
  • Author or otherwise contribute to AWS customer-facing publications such as whitepapers
  • Build deep relationships with senior technical individuals within customers to enable them to be cloud advocates
  • Act as a technical liaison between customers, service engineering teams and support
  • The right person will be highly technical and analytical, possess 12 - 14 + years of current solutions architecture (implementation/consulting) experience.
  • Experience in architecting Infrastructure solutions using both Linux/Unix and Windows with specific recommendations on server, load balancing, HA/DR, & storage architectures.
  • Experience in Coding, Application Development, scripting highly preferred. Hands-on experience (or atleast working knowledge) with Programing languages like PHP, Python, Perl, Ruby, Java, etc.
  • Knowledge or experience in the Big Data space as well as Databases (RDMS or NoSQL) an added bonus.
  • Experience architecting or deploying Cloud/Virtualization solutions in enterprise customers. AWS platform specific experience a bonus.
  • Experience working within the Enterprise software market and/or Internet companies is highly desired.
  • Enterprise and Web applications architecture knowledge an added bonus.
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills are a must, as well as the ability to work effectively across internal and external organizations.
  • Roles & Responsibilities:
  • Serve as a key technical member of the Business Development team in helping to ensure customer success in building applications and services on the Amazon Web Services platform.
  • Scope each customer engagement, with attention towards clear and well-defined objectives and success criteria.
  • Own each technical engagement, and help ensure a timely and successful delivery of value. (delivery of actual solutions to be done by APN partners)
  • Capture and share best-practice knowledge amongst the solution architect community.
  • Understand the Amazon Web Services market segments, customer base, and industry verticals.
  • Understand and exploit internal Amazon systems.
  • Technical degree required; Computer Science or Math background highly desired; working knowledge of software development practices and technologies highly desired.
