Global Research Center Mumbai GLOBAL INDEX RESEARCH Junior Analyst / AnalystJ.P. Morgan s Global Research Center (GRC) in Mumbai was set up in August, 2003 as an extension of the Firm s global equity research teams around the world. Since its inception GRC has grown steadily and the team of analysts has expanded to over 100 and provides coverage for the key sectors globally. Besides working with JP Morgan s equity research teams, the analysts and associates in GRC are now engaged with other areas of public side research including credit research, economics, strategy, credit derivatives and fixed income bond indices.J.P. Morgan s Global Index Research Team is a leading provider of indices across fixed income with a market leading presence in Emerging Market (EM) Indices, accounting for over 95% of the market with over $625 billion in assets tracking the various EM index products.The Index Groups presence in Mumbai consists of a well-established, cohesive team that is central to the Index Research Group s activities in the region. The team is responsible for creating, managing and marketing J.P. Morgan proprietary indices and commercialization of research data for beta-access products (ETFs, structured products, etc.). Due to the time zone advantage, the team acts as a vanguard to many of the operational aspects of the Index business prior to opening of the London and New York markets.The scope of responsibilities would broadly include the following:Track and analyze market events that impact products and components within the Index suite; events such as central bank announcements, yield curve movements, shifts in economic activity or climate etc.Regular contact & coordination with stakeholders such as regional research desks and trading teams facilitating exchange and dissemination of information.Respond to client queries that could range from sharing of product updates to running bespoke and customized data analytics.Ensure the delivery of inputs namely rates, FX etc., used in the calculation of index products.Verify the timely dissemination of calculated Index data through distribution channels (internal analytics and risk systems, external vendors etc.).Liaise with internal teams (back office, technology operations, front-office etc.) to resolve operational issues around index production and distribution.Modeling in Excel / Scripting platform using internal analytical and statistical libraries, as well as market data systems (such as Bloomberg).The ideal candidate: has familiarity with programming platforms, python preferable.has a general understanding of relational database systems.is proficient with Excel and comfortable with VBA macros.is an excellent communicator and thrives in a high functioning team environment.is able to multi-task and understand priorities as they would be working in a team environment where stakeholders come from all parts of the world.has some basic knowledge of financial markets, preferably the fixed income asset class.Ideal candidates for these positions would be Engineering graduates with upto 3 years of experience in the financial services or fintech domain and looking to build a career in the financial markets.Interested applicants could email their CV to Viquar Shaikh at: viquar.shaikh@jpmorgan.com,
