Job Description

    Job Title: Junior Mechanic (Job Ref. No. hidden_mobile0)Industry: Education / TrainingVacancies: 2 (ST-1, UR-1)Location: IIT Bombay, Powai, Mumbai 400 076Job Description:IIT Bombay invites applications for the position of Junior Mechanic, to be deployed in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE). We are seeking two qualified candidates to provide technical support in various areas including computer hardware, software, and audiovisual systems.Educational Qualification and Experience:
    • Option 1: 3-year Diploma in Computer Science/Information Technology (CS/IT) or an equivalent discipline, with at least 2 years of relevant experience after completing the diploma.
    • Option 2: ITI in CS/IT or an equivalent discipline, with 5 years of relevant experience after obtaining the ITI certificate.
    • Option 3: Bachelors degree (excluding B.Tech/B.E.) in CS/IT or an equivalent discipline.
    Essential Skills and Experience:
    • Technical Proficiency: Solid knowledge of computer hardware and software, with practical experience in troubleshooting and repairing components such as SMPS, HDD, and RAM.
    • Linux Systems: Basic understanding of Linux systems, including installation, configuration, and troubleshooting.
    • Audiovisual (AV) Equipment: Experience with AV systems like projectors and PA systems.
    • Networking: Familiarity with network setup and basic troubleshooting.
    • Inventory Management: Experience using software tools to manage and update equipment inventory.
    • Problem-Solving: Quick and effective resolution of technical issues, especially in a classroom or lab environment.
    • Teamwork: Ability to work collaboratively and provide prompt technical support as part of a team.
