Job Description

    Domnic Lewis is mandated to hire for Electrical Design role at Thane locationMust Have: We are preferring candidates who are having experience in Shipping/MarineRole Overview:
    • Electrical Design Review and Analysis:Lead and conduct comprehensive electrical design reviews, including the analysis and preparation of ship electrical systems. This involves Electrical Load Analysis, transformer sizing, battery calculations, and the creation of Electrical Single Line Diagrams, block diagrams, and termination diagrams.
    • Team Leadership:Effectively manage and guide the electrical design team, ensuring the successful execution of all tasks and projects.
    • System Calculations and Compatibility:Perform critical calculations such as Short Circuit Analysis, voltage drop assessments, and Circuit breaker selection. Ensure compatibility with classification society standards including MODU Code, SPS, FSS, and DP.
    • Equipment Selection and Vendor Management:Oversee the selection of electrical equipment, engage in vendor discussions, and manage the creation of Bill of Materials (BOM).
    • Design and Layout Preparation:Prepare detailed electrical cable schedules, Cable tray layouts, MCT designs, cable routing plans, termination diagrams, as well as lighting calculations and layouts.
    • Instrumentation and Automation:Develop and implement solutions for instrumentation and automation systems.
    • Client and Classification Society Interaction:Address technical queries from clients and classification societies, participate in relevant meetings, and provide informed responses.
    • Vendor Documentation and Standards Compliance:Review vendor documents with a thorough understanding of applicable classification standards.
    • Software Proficiency:Proficient in AutoCAD (mandatory) with preferred experience in ETAP and DIALUX for advanced electrical design and analysis.
    • Electrical Estimations and Specifications:Capable of performing electrical estimations, including materials take-off (MTO) for cables and cable ladders, and preparing various technical specifications and Statements of Requirements (SOTRs).
    • Technical Guidance:Provide independent leadership and guidance to the team as required, leveraging expertise in electric propulsion, hybrid propulsion, and detailed electrical 3D design.
    • Project Management:Manage projects effectively, including project scheduling, client interactions, and site visits (e.g., client offices, ships).
    • Site Supervision Support:Assist site supervision teams by addressing technical queries and providing necessary support.
