Job Description

    An operations manager will be responsible for managing the operations of the CHA team. He/she will be responsible for managing all communication with customers and vendors. The operations manager will play a leading role in preparing all import & export quotes for customers and handle customs clearance. The role will be dynamic, and the manager will report to the head of the Imports department.Roles and Responsibilities
    • Manages the logistics function and personnel within assigned area of responsibility
    • Plan logistics operations for clients including coordination of transportation and communication with vendors
    • Lead a team of supervisory personnel in the imports team
    • Ensure records of customer orders, backorders, consignment inventory, import shipments and delivery details are maintained according to contractual obligations
    • Minimize demurrage and detention of goods
    • Evaluate and improve team processes and procedures maximize efficiency and increase value to the customer
    • Supervision exercised as directed by management, may supervise employees or subcontractor personnel in accordance with the General Supervisory Duties
    • To ensure compliance on safety, health and security requirements outlined in our contracts
    Requirements
    • Minimum Bachelors Degree. Education in logistics related fields such as Customs clearance or Import Export Management is a plus
    • 5 years of experience at a managerial level
    • Experience with cargo operations, handling of ODC cargo and communication with customs officials
    • Import and export customs clearance knowledge
    • Strong communication and writing skills
    • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft office tools like Word & Excel
    • Self-starter with problem-solving skills and high attention to detail
    • Ability to streamline operations and make improvements for our clients
