Job Description

    • Job Title: Purchase Manager
    • Company Description:
    We are a reputable export-import company specializing in the trade of fresh fruits, vegetables, and pulses. As part of our expansion plans, we are seeking a diligent and experienced Purchase Officer to join our team and play a vital role in our procurement operations.
    As a Purchase Officer, you will be responsible for managing the procurement process for fresh fruits, vegetables, and pulses to support our export-import activities. You will work closely with suppliers, negotiate contracts, and ensure the timely and cost-effective acquisition of goods. Your expertise in procurement and supply chain management will contribute to the success of our operations.
    • Responsibilities:
    Identify and source reliable suppliers for fresh fruits, vegetables, and pulses, both locally and internationally. Evaluate supplier options based on factors such as product quality, pricing, reliability, and delivery capabilities.Negotiate contracts and terms with suppliers to secure favourable pricing, favourable payment terms, and other beneficial arrangements.Collaborate with internal stakeholders to determine procurement needs and specifications, considering factors such as quality standards, quantities, and delivery schedules.Place purchase orders and ensure accurate and timely order fulfillment. Monitor and track delivery schedules to ensure on-time receipt of goods.Resolve any issues or discrepancies with suppliers regarding quality, quantity, or delivery of goods.Maintain strong relationships with suppliers, fostering effective communication and addressing any concerns or inquiries.Conduct market research to stay updated on industry trends, pricing, and product availability.Ensure compliance with import/export regulations, customs procedures, and documentation requirements.Coordinate with logistics teams to facilitate smooth transportation and delivery of goods.Maintain accurate records of procurement activities, including supplier contracts, purchase orders, and invoices.
    • Qualifications:
    Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.Proven work experience as a Purchase Officer or in a similar procurement role, preferably in an export-import company dealing with fresh produce.Strong knowledge of procurement principles, practices, and procedures.Familiarity with international trade, import/export regulations, and customs procedures.Excellent negotiation and communication skills to effectively interact with suppliers.Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen eye for detail. Proficiency in using procurement software and MS Office applications.Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
