    Job description of Quality EngineerA quality engineer plays a critical role in ensuring that products and processes meet established quality standards and customer expectations. They are responsible for implementing quality control systems, identifying and resolving quality issues, and driving continuous improvement throughout the product lifecycle.Heres a breakdown of the typical responsibilities, skills, and qualifications associated with a Quality Engineer role:Key responsibilities
    • Develop and implement quality standards and systems: This involves defining quality metrics, designing inspection and testing procedures, and ensuring compliance with industry standards like ISO 9001:2015.
    • Monitor and analyze quality performance: Quality engineers regularly inspect and test materials, equipment, processes, and products to ensure they meet specifications. They identify defects, track quality metrics like defect rates and rework levels, and report on malfunctions.
    • Investigate and troubleshoot quality issues: They lead investigations into product defects or production problems, determine the root causes using tools like 8D or 5 Whys, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams: Quality engineers work closely with various departments, including production, engineering, design, and supply chain, to embed quality controls into workflows and resolve issues efficiently.
    • Ensure compliance and manage documentation: They ensure that workflows, processes, and products comply with safety regulations and quality management system requirements (e.g., TS 16949). They also prepare detailed reports on quality standards, malfunctions, and corrective actions.
    • Drive continuous improvement: Quality engineers promote and participate in continuous improvement activities, utilizing methodologies like Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing to optimize processes, reduce waste, and enhance product durability and performance.
