Our financial solutions are not only the best in the business they were made just right for youJob Purpose:Management, oversight and control over the overall expense of the India Consumer Banking Group (CBG) in collaboration with the business/support units and the regional teams. Accountable for initiation, coordination and tracking of all tactical and strategic cost management initiatives within CBG. Key Accountabilities:

  • Monthly cost tracking/monitoring for consumer banking
  • Strategic Cost Management (To drive cost saves for unit against the budgets)
  • Stakeholder management (Coordination between procurement, finance and business unit)
  • Annual budgeting & forecasting of costs including direct costs and allocated costs.
  • Monthly cost provisioning/cost accruals for consumer unit.
Job Duties & responsibilities:
  • Creating monthly unit wise cost sheet for all consumer units for tracking the trends for actual spends vs budgeted spends.
  • Identifying areas of focus by way of trends and aberrations observed.
  • Highlighting variances and reasons thereof to ensure expenses are managed and on track with the plan.
  • Drive the Strategic cost management initiatives across consumer banking unit to achieve the cost saves target for the unit.
  • Work with intra unit stakeholders for reduction in vendor costs unit wise/fix cost wise.
  • To create a leaner model to move from Fixed cost to variable cost model for majority of the expenses.
  • Complete the cost forecasting exercise in June & Sep every year for Branch & digital vertical of consumer banking.
  • Headcount budgeting in coordination with HR and Consumer Banking Heads office, keeping next years business plans and budgets in mind. This activity also includes the tracking of each headcount budget v/s actual on monthly basis with the help of Biz. HR.
  • To manage the annual budgeting in coordination with inter and intra unit stakeholders for occupancy costs, technology developments costs and general costs for branch banking unit.
  • To manage the budgeting for digital unit for Customer acquisition costs (CoA), Marketing costs and fixed costs.
  • Create a 5 years cost trends each business line wise for regional management presentations.
  • Aiming to reduce the allocation percentages charged to Consumer unit by other supporting units during the budgeting cycle.
