Job Description

    Technical Support EngineerQualifications
    • Bachelors Degree in IT, Computer Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field.
    • Experience: 3-5 years in a technical support role or similar capacity.
    • Reporting to: Manager R&D or Head of Technical Support.
    Objective of the RoleTo ensure the smooth operation, maintenance, and enhancement of technical systems related to vending machines and provide advanced technical guidance and support to both technicians and junior team members.Major ResponsibilitiesSystem Monitoring and Maintenance
    • Monitor and maintain hardware and software systems for vending machines to ensure optimal performance.
    • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues related to hardware, software, or network connectivity.
    • Identify and rectify bugs or issues observed in the installed machines, ensuring minimal downtime.
    Technical Support and Guidance
    • Provide expert-level technical support to technicians during new installations, configurations, and maintenance activities.
    • Assist junior engineers and technicians by offering advanced troubleshooting solutions and guidance.
    • Respond promptly to escalated technical support calls and ensure resolution within SLA timelines.
    System Development and Collaboration
    • Work closely with software developers and project support teams to ensure seamless integration of new applications and system upgrades.
    • Support the roll-out of new applications or hardware systems by conducting pre-deployment testing and post-deployment monitoring.
    • Provide feedback to development teams regarding system performance and user experience.
    Documentation and Communication
    • Maintain detailed records of technical issues, resolutions, and best practices for future reference.
    • Prepare and update technical documentation, user manuals, and training materials.
    • Communicate findings, updates, and recommendations to both technical and non-technical stakeholders effectively.
    Proactive Improvements
    • Conduct root cause analysis for recurring issues and recommend preventative measures.
    • Propose and implement process or system improvements to enhance system reliability and efficiency.
    Technical Skill Set Required
    • In-depth knowledge of computer hardware, software, networking, and system integration.
    • Strong debugging and analytical skills to identify and resolve system performance issues.
    • Familiarity with system workflows and processes, particularly in the context of vending machine operations.
    • Proficiency in diagnosing errors and implementing software or hardware updates.
    • Knowledge of IoT, Raspberry Pi, Arduino, microcontrollers, website development, Postman client tool, and APIs.
    Behavioural Skill Set Required
    • Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.
    • Excellent communication skills to effectively guide and train technicians.
    • Ability to collaborate and work as part of a cross-functional team.
    • Time management skills to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines efficiently.
