Job Description

AllerWell, one of our flagship products, uses AI and advanced tech to revolutionize allergy management, helping users make safer food choices.Role Description:Were looking for an Application Developer with a strong backend focus in Node.js. Youll work closely with frontend developers, designers, and product teams to build scalable APIs, manage cloud-based infrastructures, and occasionally contribute to Flutter-based front end development. This is a great role for someone who loves working across the stack and wants to build real-world solutions that impact users directly.Key Responsibilities:Design, develop, and maintain backend services and APIs using Node.js.Build scalable, secure, and high-performance server-side applications.Collaborate with frontend (Flutter) and product teams to define and deliver end-to-end solutions.Optimize backend performance and database queries for speed and reliability.Manage and integrate cloud-based services (primarily AWS) to support backend operations.Occasionally assist in Flutter-based development for mobile/web, contributing to full-stack solutions.Ensure code quality through code reviews, testing, and adherence to best practices.Requirements:3 years of hands-on experience in Node.js development.Strong proficiency in JavaScript and Node.js frameworks like Express.js.Solid understanding of REST APIs, GraphQL, and integration with frontend applications.Experience with PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or other relational and NoSQL databases.Familiarity with AWS services (e.g., Lambda, RDS, S3) and deploying backend applications in cloud environments.Basic knowledge of Flutter and Dart to collaborate effectively with frontend teams.Familiarity with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and backend testing frameworks.Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment while contributing to a collaborative engineering team.Nice to Have:Experience building serverless applications (e.g., AWS Lambda, DynamoDB).Knowledge of security best practices in backend and API development.Exposure to fintech applications, compliance, and data protection requirements.Previous experience with complex databases and real-time data streams.At Gunpowder Innovations, we build fast and with purpose.
