Job Title: Electrical Design Engineer MV SwitchgearExperience: 5 to 10 yearsLocation- Mumbai & MysoreSalary- Open for the right candidateJob Summary:We are seeking a skilled Electrical Design Engineer with expertise in Medium Voltage (MV) Switchgear design. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in electrical design, protection & control (P&C) schemes, and technical documentation. A deep understanding of protection relays, communication network architectures, and industry standards is essential.Key Responsibilities:
• Design and develop MV switchgear systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards and customer requirements.
• Prepare technical RFQ packages, including Single Line Diagrams (SLD), General Arrangements, standard schematics, and Electrical Bills of Materials (EBOM).
• Develop and interpret breaker control schematics, panel layout drawings, three-line diagrams, wiring diagrams, and nameplate schedules.
• Analyze technical specifications and apply appropriate product solutions to meet customer expectations efficiently and within deadlines.
• Provide expert-level proficiency in protection relays, P&C schemes, and control schematics.
• Design and integrate communication network architectures for controls and automation, including RS485, RS232, IRIG-B, and various network topologies (star, ring, daisy chain).
• Ensure adherence to IEEE, ANSI, NEC, UL, and NEMA standards for MV switchgear.
• Utilize electrical CAD tools such as Electrical ACAD, E-BASE, MS Visio, and NXTools (preferred).
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize product designs and support project execution.
• Manage multiple tasks effectively, prioritizing work to meet project deadlines.
Qualifications & Skills:
• Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or M.Tech in Electrical Engineering.
• Proven experience in electrical design for MV switchgear.
• Strong knowledge of electrical protection systems and protection relays.
• Hands-on experience with CAD tools such as Electrical ACAD, E-BASE, MS Visio, and NXTools (preferred).
• Familiarity with communication systems for control and automation applications.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
