We believe that wherever learning flourishes so do people.[5:33 PM] Grover, SakshiBackground Information:The Production Project Manager is responsible for the production and quality control of assigned program components or projects from manuscript turnover to finished product within defined schedule, budget, and quality guidelines.Projects can include print text,etext, andsupplements such as PPTs,ACCsTest banks andInstructor/StudentManuals.Exercise judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriateactions.Purpose of the role:

  • Functions as a primary production stakeholder for assigned programs internal and externalto theorganization
  • Successfully utilize and apply their knowledge of publishing and/or production processand procedures in strategic and proactivemanner
  • Assignments range low to high complexity innature
  • Resolves questions and problems and independently analyzes, more complex issues,knows when to escalate anissue.
Key Accountabilities & Deliverables:
  • Manages all aspects of production from manuscript release through delivery offinished products (print and digital, main andsupplements)
  • Ensures product adheres to the project plan and meets Pearson standards andrequirements.
  • Manages vendors performing production activities and act as primary decision maker regarding production of product; monitor and validate vendor performance in termsof schedule, budget, andquality.
  • Works with authors and other content creators (directly or indirectly) duringproduction,providing guidance and support, and ensuringdeliverables
  • Communicates project status to allstakeholders, andperforms reporting on projectsas required. Leads regular meetings with all key stakeholders and works to identify and remediate projectrisks.
  • Maintains close collaboration with and accountability to the ProgramManager.
  • Creates and monitors project schedules; tracks project milestones, identifies problemareas before they impact the project and coordinates correctiveactions.
  • Creates and manages project budgets, communicates problems, and works with the Program Manager to remediate.
  • Work with the Rights & Permissions team to ensure that all required permissions aresecured for project; work with author and/or vendor to remediate permissions issues during production.
  • Manages interior design or works with Pearson Art Director; reviewscoversfor printand digitalinstances.
  • Maintains key product information in production systems (i.e. PCS, EPM,Smartsheet).
  • Issues work for hire contracts and purchase orders and manages invoices throughpayment.
  • Supports use of authoring tools selected with the author, Program Manager andDevelopment team.
Additional Responsibilities:
  • Facilitate Author training in process andtools
  • Manage sample chapters or chapters for marketingpurposes
  • Manage discrete content for digital products asneeded.
