Profile Summary:
ECMS design specialist
Responsible for design, implementation and testing of ECMS (electrical control and monitoring system) control functions. Some of these control functions are:
Breaker on/off control
Load-shedding on loss of power source or low frequency
Tie-line import/export control
Generator load control (MW) and power factor control (MVAr)
Transformer OLTC tap-changing control
Capacitor bank on/off control
Synchronisation
Essential job functions:
To design, develop and implement control logics for various ECMS control functions with accuracy. To design, implement and test tie-back simulation logic for testing.
To travel to project sites for testing and tuning of various electrical control functions, for third-party communication, for commissioning, and including any modification of C programs.
Bachelor s degree in engineering preferably in electrical, else in controls & instrumentation, computer science, or mathematics.
4 -10 years of relevant experience.
ECMS knowledge and DCS hands-on experience will be preferred.
Knowledge, skill, abilities:
Can read electrical single-line diagrams (SLDs), and switchboard control logic drawings.
Have general knowledge of electrical equipment like switchboards, generators, turbines, AVRs, motors, transformers, capacitors, CTs, VTs, feeders, meters, relays.
Have a thorough understanding of electrical controls
Good programming skill in C
