Teacher duties and responsibilities
• Develop and deliver art lessons that align with the schools curriculum and educational standards.
• Teach students about various art techniques, styles, and mediums.
• Encourage creativity and self-expression in students through art projects and assignments.
• Assess and evaluate student progress through assignments, tests, and projects.
• Provide constructive feedback to students and communicate with parents about their childs progress.
• Create a safe and supportive classroom environment that fosters learning and creativity.
• Collaborate with other teachers and staff to integrate art into other subjects and school-wide events.
• Stay up-to-date with new art techniques, technologies, and trends to enhance teaching methods and student learning.
• Participate in school-wide events and activities, such as art shows, exhibitions, and performances.
• Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and progress.
Teacher requirements and qualifications
• Bachelors degree in Education or related field
• Teaching certification or license
• Experience teaching art at the elementary or secondary level
• Strong knowledge of art history, techniques, and media
• Ability to plan and deliver engaging art lessons that meet state standards
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to manage a classroom effectively and maintain a positive learning environment
• Masters degree in Education or related field (preferred)
• Experience teaching art to diverse student populations
• Experience integrating technology into art lessons
• Experience with project-based learning and/or interdisciplinary teaching
• Participation in professional development opportunities related to art education
• Experience collaborating with other teachers and staff to support student learning
• Passion for art and a commitment to promoting creativity and self-expression in students
