Job Description

Reporting to the India Head with dotted line reporting to Monotype s Chief Technology Officer who is based in the US, the Agile Coach will be responsible for the continued Agile evolution of Monotype, specifically encompassing Product Management and Product Delivery.This position shall span each of the four major product teams (Tribes in Spotify lingo) at Monotype and needs to be a trusted partner & Agile coach to the CTO and the CMO (the product management team reports into the CMO) as well.The Agile Coach will work closely with the leadership of each of the Tribes to help them drive toward their respective objectives. From planning and forecasting, to execution and retrospection.The Agile Coach shall report on and evolve Agile metrics for the organization, in service of the employee wellbeing and in service of the business objectives.This individual will manage the Agile Practitioners embedded in each sub-team (Squads, in the Spotify lingo).Responsibilities:Responsible for driving iterative improvement across the Product Management and the Product Development organizations.Bring in best practices and facilitate the organization to live Agile, at scale. Experience with different models is useful, especially Jeff Sutherland s ScrumScale.Coach Scrum teams in Agile values and best practices, teams of teams in multi-sprint big room planning, engineering craftsmanship best practices and enabling delivery at scale across multiple squads.Contribute to development of unified Agile methodology, through alignment with product management and engineering stakeholders.Help teams to understand and clarify expectations of goals, outcomes and delivery.Help continue to build a trusting and safe environment where problems can be raised without fear of blame, retribution, or being judged, with an emphasis on healing and problem-solving.Help teams to sustain a healthy flow/ throughput by predicting, anticipating and removing impediments and bottlenecks.Deliver needed Agile training to align our product & engineering teams around a common language and methodology for Monotype.Participate in creation of Agile coaching strategy, creating a common approach that would help our teams deliver with improved effectiveness, efficiency & joyfulness.Assess the Agile maturity of the teams and coach the team to continuously improve efficiency, at a pace that is sustainable and comfortable for the team and organization.Partner with product and engineering leaders from across Tribes to enable them as impediment removers for our teams.Facilitate communities of practice (Guilds in Spotify lingo) to enable craftsmanship for product owners, development engineers, quality, Scrum masters and Agile program managers.Be the influencer to help transform product & engineering teams (Tribes) at Monotype into self-learning and continuously improving teams.Support the creation of a culture that empowers self-organizing teams, with a focus on accountability, adaptability, quality and speed to market.Support and educate Product managers, especially on grooming and maintaining the product backlog.Provide support to the team using a servant leadership style and leading by example.Qualifications:6 years of Agile coaching experience.Experience and active participation in successful Agile transformations, with demonstrable results.Communication and change management expertise spanning software developers to senior executives.Skilled in the development of Agile metrics to incentivize best practice behavioursExperience in product management or engineering development, and leadership of product development teams.Interest and deep expertise in coaching and facilitation, is a must, preferably at the company leadership level as well.Interest and expertise in human psychology and organizational behaviour is a plus.,
