Job Description

*Financial Crime OpsFinancial Crime Operations core focus is to protect the bank from sanctioned or prohibited individuals entering Barclays or using its platform for movement of funds. We also ensure that high risk clients are monitored and banking system is not abused for laundering of money.The current Sanctions operating model consists of teams across a number of key global locations including India, Singapore, the US and UK which higher of resources in India and UK.Payment OpsBarclays helps its customer exchange over 400 bn per day in safe, secure and timely manner. Operations in India services various geographies that include UK, Europe, US and Asia. Payment functions include processing, repair and investigation of payment transactions.Overall purpose of roleThe role holder will lead large and diverse teams spread across multiple sites in India and will be responsible for business and projects delivery. He should have global cultural awareness and manage relationships both locally and remotely for stakeholders that spread across business lines and geographies. Strong and impactful relationship management and communication skills, across multiple product / business lines / geographies, with evidence of establishing and developing effective and credible relationships with (MD/D) stakeholders Role holder should possess highly effective communication skills. The person should not only able to manage operations team but also will be working with Technology team for a better collaborative approach and faster turnaround of strategic and tactical solutions. Being a critical function, role holder to develop a stronger control environment that is not only ready for agile internal audits but can also undergo reviews and audits from external regulatory authorities and internal 2nd line of defense. The person is required to possess skills to analyze diverse data sets, complex analytical problems and should be able to engage with Tech partners for delivery of the projects. The role holder will be accountable for driving innovation through strategic/tactical solutions within the business in a risk mitigated environment.The person should not only able to manage operations team but also will be working with Technology team for a better collaborative approach and faster turnaround of strategic and tactical solutions, operational readiness for strategic platform changes and develop partnership.Design, develop and maintain resilience plans that help to maintain critical operations at all times.Manage activities to ensure compliance to procedures and policy guidelines, Assist the business in the maintenance of Service Level Agreements and Key Performance Indicators through effective leadership.The person will be responsible to develop people strategy, identify potential leaders and support in their hiring and development. The role holder will need to support and execute change within the function ensuring no or limited impact of employee motivation, morale and performance.Lead global and local initiatives, reported at a leadership level.Develop a culture where risk once identified are discussed and plans to mitigate them are executed on priorityPerson Specification

  • The role holder must have extensive experience of leading and motivating teams
  • The role holder must have a strong understanding of risk and control frameworks
