Job Description

Operations Analysis SpecialistDepartment OverviewThe Environmental and Commodity Solutions department is responsible for the successful operations of the Environmental Registry, Commodity Tracker and Auctions Platform. Our Registry product supports 27 environmental programs across carbon, water and biodiversity. The Registry tracks assets through their life cycle i.e., Issuance, transfer and retirement). Additionally, we provide auction and customized environmental infrastructure solutions to our clients. Commodity Tracker supports clients with their trading operations of physical commodities. By transforming unstructured inventory documents into structured data, we introduce efficiencies by automating workflows and reduce the risk associated with holding physical assets. Launched in 2017 to support base metals and recently expanded to cover grain, Commodity Tracker continues to evolve to support client needs. The integrity and robustness of our infrastructure and operational processes are the most critical element in the business.Position summaryThe Commodity Operations Analyst role is of a critical nature. It has responsibility for the on-going integrity of our Environmental Registry and Commodity Tracker products. For the Environmental Registry, this includes implementation of appropriate processes and controls, review and authorization of environmental projects and credit issuances (according Standards Rules), review and authorization of transfers and retirement of credits, facilitation of accounting processes; client liaison and support services. For Commodity Tracker, responsibilities include document classification and the quality assurance of our digitization processes, which feeds continual improvement in our machine learning.This is an exciting opportunity for an eager and enthusiastic candidate to acquire knowledge in an environmental and physical commodities space and be involved in the design and implementation of processes around our products. He/She will work closely with other functions within the firm Product Management, Business Analysis, Technology, and Quality Assurance to ensure that our environmental products is of a premium quality. He/She will be responsible for executing the operational procedures and processes for the environmental programs hosted on our platform.Duties & accountabilities

  • Provide first-line support services (telephone and email) to customers. Support may require assistance to customers in their use of the system, entering accounts, issuances, transfers and retirement of credits, and other related data inquiries.
  • Assist in the review of processes, operational procedures, workflows and documentation requirements. Provide input and feedback in the design and on-going revision of our processes.
  • Complete understanding of registry processes and Includes checking validity of credits and authorization in the system for all issuances, transfers and retirement transactions.
  • Understanding customer registry activity and corresponding contract agreements in order to assist the team in monthly and ad-hoc invoice billing. The role also gives candidate the exposure to the invoicing system and related processes, including reconciliation of credits across registries, levy reconciliations, etc.
  • Training of registry customers on-line and in person. Development of appropriate training materials and presentations.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with key registry customers
  • Participate in regularly occurring scheduled meetings with key contacts on the environmental programs that we host on the registry
  • Provide support on special projects which may include assistance in assembling content for request-for-proposals, critiquing & editing RFP content
  • Ensuring timely completion of quality assurance on physical inventory documents
Education and experience
  • Bachelor s or Master s Degree any discipline
  • Must have excellent computer skills---MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook; MS Project Plan and Visio a plus
  • Working in an operational environment with a focus on customer service; 1 to 3 years of experience
