BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 7 years of software engineering or related experience., *Context: The container native platform service team is looking for a Senior software development engineer to help develop and operate container native monitoring services in kubernetes running in Oracles Container Engine for Kubernetes. Our product manages logs and metrics for our customers who are cloud services running on OCI.Job: The job breaks down into two areas: (a) Developing features in Golang,Python etc and taking ownership of deployment to production via our CI/CD. (b) Participating in our on-call operations to ensure our service runs in an efficient and reliable fashion with minimum downtime to meet our published SLAs.We take lot of pride in making our service secure and take customer satisfaction seriously. We patch, upgrade on a regular basis - all without our customers noticing.Skills: Candidate should have a strong computer science background (minimum BS degree) as well proven experience in the following areas: Strong operational experience running technical operations of a cloud infrastructure such as AWSEC2S3 or Azure at scale Development experience in Golang, Python, Ansible, and terraform to develop highly scalable, reliable services. Experience working in agile methodologies Understanding of Docker and Linux containers Hands on experience with container orchestration software such as Kubernetes, Swarm, or Marathon Understanding of monitoring, alerting, logging frameworks such as prometheus, elastic stack, grafana Proven experience leveraging monitoring/logging data points to identify and self correct outages leading to higher service levels Understanding of of the development patterns of the 12 factor app which lend themselves toward a successful microservices architecture Continuous integration and deployment (CICD) with tools such as Jenkins/Hudson. Should be aware of managing pipeline has code Resolving outages, automate required tooling to improve operations, and drive postmortems We want someone obsessed with operational excellence and customer satisfaction Strong verbal and written communication skills
