Define, design, and implement network communications and solutions within a fast-paced, leading edge database/applications company.Responsible for creating and implementing system enhancements that will improve the performance and reliablility of the system. Manage the load configurations of a central data communication processor and make recommendations for purchase or upgrade of data networks. Coordinate terminal orders and cable installation, network system planning, upgrading, monitoring, testing, and servicing. Approves action requests and specifies purchase requisitions. Negotiates and places orders with common carriers. We are seeking an experienced and knowledgeable engineer to help our Storage cloud infrastructure. Individual will support all storage appliances, disk space utilization and capacity, backups and DR, code and patching updates, and troubleshoot any problems.Additional Functions:Installation, configuration, and troubleshootingMonitoring Storage logs and storage activitiesWorking with Storage vendorsScripting and automationParticipate in storage on-call rotationWork on various storage projects and activitiesQualifications, Skills and AbilitiesBachelor s degree and 5 plus years supporting and installing storage systems (block and file)Experience with Storage and data protection infrastructure but not limited to Oracle ZFS & FS1, HP 3PAR, Dell EMC VMAX, VNX, Avamar, Data Domain Backup software, HP Data Protector, Pillar data systems or FS1Experience with CISCO fabric switches, ISLs and NPort virtualization and other high-speed Interconnects (InfiniBand and 10GBE)Solid understanding of networking concepts.NFS and understanding of ASM would be a plus.Perform, Patching, Flash upgradesExperience in working an enterprise class environment.Individually and as a part of cross-disciplined teams, troubleshoot and resolve issues with storageWorking with Networking engineers, 24X7 Operation center.Carry out audits of the Storage infrastructure and remediate storage-based PCI vulnerabilities.Good understanding of Virtualized environment (VMWare and OVS/Xen would be a plus)Understanding of Jira and Confluence for project and task management.Profile:Ability to work on a global team.Strong Organizational skills and excellent communication skillsAbility to mentor others.Excellent documentation capabilities (using Visio and confluence)Strong troubleshooting Abilities
