Define, design, and implement network communications and solutions within a fast-paced, leading edge database/applications company.Responsible for creating and implementing system enhancements that will improve the performance and reliablility of the system. Manage the load configurations of a central data communication processor and make recommendations for purchase or upgrade of data networks. Coordinate terminal orders and cable installation, network system planning, upgrading, monitoring, testing, and servicing. Approves action requests and specifies purchase requisitions. Negotiates and places orders with common carriers. May play a team leader role for developing System Administrators.Leading contributor individually and as a team member, providing direction and mentoring to others. We also migrate and integrate new acquisitions to true Oracle Cloud platforms.The Systems Support Team s mission is to provide global, enterprise quality engineering for managing server operating systems and infrastructure on a 24x7x365 basis.Roles & Responsibilities:The successful candidate will possess excellent systems management and interpersonal communication skills, having good troubleshooting and analyzing skills, and is responsible and responsive. The candidate must be expert on Oracle Enterprise Linux / RHEL base, independent on Windows Operating Systems (2000/2003/2008/2012), knowledge on database, Internet technologies, security and hosting facilities. The candidate must feel comfortable in fast-paced, team-based environment.Support the deployment of development environments used for building new offerings and applications that will be deployed into a mission critical SaaS (Software as a Service) Hosting environmentCreate Install Qualification (IQ), Operational Qualification (OQ) and deployment documentation as needed to support environment and application deployments into the Production Hosting environment.Work with project managers to plan server resources and set-up timelines for projects. Develop requirements, specification and project development efforts to support projects. Coordinate with vendors to committed services.Execute against project plans to implement software and hardware installation and upgrade projects. Assist with resolving performance tuning issues. Provide off-hours support on a rotating schedule.Assure internal and vendor compliance to company standard operating procedures. Review quality metrics and procedures. Assess system vulnerability and security capabilities. Participate in disaster recovery and backup procedures development and implementation.Responsible for the system administration activities within the environment; Monitor all system processes. Install, configure, and maintain server systems. Develop and maintain shell scripts and programs to support and simplify administration tasks for our mission critical processes.Required Skills:B.E./B.Tech, Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or equivalent combination of relevant experience.11 - 15 years work experience in IT as a Sr. System Engineer or Admin in Windows and Linux environmentsExperience with Virtualization ( Xen/Oracle VM or VMware), SAN and NAS technologiesExperience with system configuration, hardware/software installation and upgrades of high availability Windows and Linux systemsCreate and update technical documentation (server configuration, backup and recovery procedures, etc.)Provide Systems escalation support to the Global Operations Center.Has experience performing RCA and implement CAPA.Manage multiple on-going concurrent projects.Follow Change Management and approved datacenter policies and procedures.Automate repetitive tasks on both Windows (using PowerShell, batch, and/or VBscript) and Linux servers (using Bash, Perl, and/or Python)Analyze performance statistics (cpu, memory, disk I/O, network throughput / latency, etc.) and implement solutions to resolve issues should they occurExperience with monitoring and ITSM ticketing tools.Ability to apply critical thinking/problem solving skills in order to resolve complex technical issues in a timely fashion.Excellent verbal and written communication skills (English)Must be self-managed, self-motivated, c ustomer focused and team oriented.Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.Provide mentoring and direction for junior engineers/admins.Oracle Enterprise Linux / Red Hat Certifications / VCP / MCSE are a plusExposure to ITIL V3Willingness to work in a 24x7 global work environment.
