What we are looking for: RoundGlass is looking for a Technical Architect to solve business problems, create architecture & design to realize the solution and own through coding and testing, and finally wax it till it reflects. This involves working with designers, business analysts and product managers, as it is not a lone job cracking the code. What you ll do: Work closely with product and development team to understand key business objectives and use these to evolve the data architecture and technical roadmap based on strategic business and operating models.Performs a key management and thought leadership role in the areas of advanced data techniques, including data modelling, data access, data integration, data visualization, text mining, data discovery, statistical methods, database design and implementation.Defines and achieves the strategy roadmap for the enterprise; including data modelling, implementation and data management for our enterprise data warehouse and advanced data analytics systems.Establishes standards and guidelines for the design & development, tuning, deployment and maintenance of information, advanced data analytics, and text mining models and physical data persistence technologies.Work with business to ensure consistency with semantic definitions.Work with Data Modelers, and Data Analysts to help manage implementationDetermine database structural requirements by reviewing client objectives analyzing client operations, application architecture and interfaces with integrated systems.Develop database solutions by designing proposed system, defining database. physical structure, functional capabilities, security, back - up and recovery specifications.Maintain database performance by identifying and resolving production and application development problems; calculating optimum values for parameters; evaluating, integrating, and installing new releases; completing maintenance; answering user questions.Ensure data architecture and implementation of same is robust, scalable, sustainable and extendable to accommodate future development.Keep abreast of evolving technologies.Network for talent and help evaluate potential team members in the recruitment process.creative thinking / approach to determine technical solutions that further business goals and align with corporate technology strategies, keeping in mind reliability, security, flexibility, and cost.Skills needed : 10 plus years of IT experience.6 plus years of experience designing data architecture framework and enforcing architecture principles.Very strong database concepts and in - depth knowledge of relational Data Structures / models / relationships.5 plus years using Oracle / SQL Server or equivalent experience.6 plus years programming in SQL.1 plus years experience in data profiling and data cleansing.5 plus years experience with large integration projects.1 plus year experience working on Big Data architecture and implementations (HBase, Cassandra, MongoDB, and Graph DB).Working knowledge of RESTful Web Services or SOA.Programming experience with Java, ORM / Hibernate, Spring Data.Working knowledge ETL tools and products.Must have worked on large size custom application development projects and has exposure to all phases of the SDLC.Must have experience architecting and implementing large data centric applications, in a high available OLTP VLDB environment.2 plus years of experience working in an agile environment such as Scrum or Kanban.Experience assessing and implementing Third - Party technologies and managing technology vendor relationships.Proficient in using Microsoft Office tools, in particular, Word, Excel and Visio,
