Job Description

Dear Candidate,I am looking for a Sr. Android Developer for one of my client in Noida with the experience of 5-8 years in the same field.About the Organization :The Group has diversified interests, which includes Power Distribution Automation, Fiber-to-the-Home networks, Machine-to-Machine communications and Smart Grid Solutions. The Group prides itself in innovation & technology and holds many patents globally. This group is the pioneer in Advanced Metering Infrastructure as well as FTTx solutions and is successfully operating largest networks in both these domains in India. Continuing with the technology & innovation leadership, the company has now forayed into area of Internet of Things and is in the process of building a complete eco-system supporting M2M and FTTx networks.Role:Board Support Package (BSP) and Android developerJob Details:

  1. Board bring-up, low level device drivers and interface programming to support the rest embedded software team,especially in the following areas:
  1. Debug board bring up
  2. Troubleshoot hardware related board bring up issues
  3. Root cause analysis: isolate issues caused by hardware and software
  4. Developing Board Support Package (BSP)
  1. Design development, integration and testing of firmware subsystems in new android based hardware platform
  2. Interface with key internal partners (applications team) and external vendors (chipmakers and systems integrators)as part of the technical cross-functional team delivering final product
  3. Developing and Implementing Board Support Package for new Android device.
  4. Development of device drivers for the peripherals like touch screen, display, cameras, audio, GPS, NFC, etc.
  5. Writing test scripts for manufacturing level test planning and implementation
  6. Integrate firmware and manage dependencies across the system.
Requisite skill and experience:
  1. Extensive knowledge of hardware platforms, SoC architectures and Android platforms
  2. Hands-on bring-up experience SoC and deploying Android over SoC based devices.
  3. At least 3-5 years of experience in embedded software development, of which at least 3+ years of experience on Android and Linux kernel level.
  4. Good understanding of industry standard interfaces for displays, NFC, Bluetooth, Cameras, UART, etc.
  5. Previous experience with Linux kernel device driver development and bootloader programming
  6. Strong knowledge of Android SDK, different versions of Android, and methodology to deal with different screen sizes
  7. Familiarity with RESTful APIs to connect Android applications to back-end services.
  8. Proven Working experience in Android app devlopment and have published at least one original android app.
  9. Experience in working with remote data via REST and JSON.
  10. Experience of working withthird-party libraries and APIs.
  11. Implement communication protocols to talk to downstream devices (Serial/Ethernet Protocols/GRPS).
  12. Strong knowledge of Android UI design principles, patterns, and best practices.
  13. Experience with offline storage, threading, and performance tuning
  14. Knowledge of open-source Android ecosystem and the libraries available for common tasks.
  15. Ability to understand business requirements and translate them into technical requirements.
  16. Familiarity with cloud message APIs and push notifications
