ROLES AND RESPONSILIBILITIES
• Converting languages:Translating spoken messages from one language to another, accurately and quickly
• Preparing:Reviewing agendas, notes, or other materials before interpreting
• Researching:Ensuring youre informed on the topic before interpreting
• Using technology:Using microphones, headsets, or other equipment as needed
• Following a code of ethics:Working to a professional code of ethics that covers confidentiality and impartiality
• Communicating:Communicating accurately and succinctly
• Emulating the speaker:Reflecting the speakers inflections and intonations
• Working in various settings:Working in a variety of settings, including social welfare, solicitors offices, seminars, speeches, meetings, teleconferences, and symposia.
