Job Description

This role includes research and problem solving from computer vision, image processing, electromechanical systems, machine learning and software engineering. The successful candidate will have experience in the design, development and support of integrated software-hardware solutions. The candidate will have the opportunity to work closely with electrical and mechanical engineers, physicists, biochemists and molecular biologists to develop and maintain instruments for the Life Science Industry.Responsibilities:

  • Participates in risk assessment, requirements definition, software architecture and detailed design, implementation, and software verification and validation.
  • Develop and execute unit tests to verify functionality of software modules
  • Document software design and implementation, including requirement specifications
  • Work with distributed development and test teams
  • Support other departments as required including technical support, field service, and Integrated Systems
  • Provide software engineering expertise for the continuous improvement of products and processes
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge at leading edge potential by attending educational workshops, reviewing the technical literature and participating in professional societies.
Qualifications:
  • Requires a BS degree required / MS preferred plus, with 5 to 10 years experience in developing instrument control software in medical, scientific or other relevant field.
  • Experience with one of more of WCF, WPF, Prism and COM architectures desired
  • Experience with Agile Scrum, TDD or other current software development methodologies.
  • Microsoft Development Stack, C#, C++. VB.NET, MS Test, TFS
  • Energetic, results-driven with excellent organizational and prioritization skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Aptitude to learn new systems and retain technical information.
  • Commitment to customer excellence with demonstrated ethics and integrity.
  • Ability to operate independently and as part of a team
  • Commitment to continuous improvement principles.
