Ecologists play an essential role in environmental conservation. They study the interrelationships between organisms, ecosystems and their components as they function within themselves and in the context of the environments that include them. Ecologists aim to identify the best approaches to land preservation and conservation concerning agricultural activities. They may provide support services to the agricultural industry, such as advice on pollination, soil retention, soil fertility and pest control.
