Job Description

    Position:Executive Packaging Material DevelopmentExperience: 4-5 years of working experience for handling FMCGpreferably specially Ice cream / Food / FMCGLocation: Talegaon, PuneEducation:Graduate from science stream with Post Graduation Diploma in Packaging from Indian Institute of Packaging or SIES School of Packaging or similar reputed college.
    • Lead the design and development of end-to-end packaging solutions for products based on the brand objectives and the business brief.
    • Innovate consistently on providing packaging solutions with a vision to optimize cost and business needs.
    • Work closely on packaging across the entire product range to evaluate opportunities for optimizing basis evolving market and business needs.
    • Lead and accomplish packaging initiatives with cross functional team members, factories, and vendors.
    • Suggest transit performance of new packaging by conducting travel tests, establish machinability of packaging material by packing line trials.
    • Create detailed documentation on packaging material specifications for new and existing products.
    • Support factories with testing SOPs of incoming raw material, acceptance rejection criteria for packaging material.
    • Validate technical competency of the vendors in terms of Machinery, quality, infrastructure, capacity, processes etc.
    • Assist in troubleshooting activities related to packaging material and machines
    • Offer support on export packaging.
    • Understand requirements of special trade channels service them by customizing packaging designs as per requirements.
    • Manage scale-up activities, cost, and quality improvement programs at key package component suppliers.
    • Provide support to packaging line commissioning and start-up activities at the new filling plant.
    • Provide plant-level consultation and support for all facets of packaging.
    • Interface with the regional & global project team on a regular basis to maintain project schedule.
    • Interface with the India Commercial team ensuring needs of the package innovations and launches are met.
    • Develop testing procedures and protocols to fully assess performance of packaging structures.
    • Preparation & Release of specification as per the development conducted.
    • Support in-country development of an innovative package for the India market.
    Knowledge and Skills (Functional / Technical)
    • Should have in-depth knowledge on Packaging Material / Processes / Designing
    • Should be able to conceptualize the right packaging format which can deliver the objective of NPD brief. Need to visualize the possible challenges during the development process and how to mitigate the risk.
    • Should be a team player. Effectively contributing with a cross functional team for the success of NPD
    • Should have enough curiosity to learn and track new development happening across the globe. Help team to conceptualize new Packaging led NPD fit for our range of products.
