Job Title: Specialist IT Software Engineering (Java) Specialist IT Software Engineering (Java) Location: Pune, India Experience: 4 years Role Type: Full-time | Specialist, IT Software Engineering (L2) About the Role We are seeking a Software Engineer (Java) to design, build, and scale modern backend platforms, APIs, and microservices. In this role, you will develop Javabased APIs and Vaadin Apps and contribute to the development of AI agents and orchestration workflows using modern LLM tooling. You will work closely with crossfunctional teams to deliver secure, scalable, and highquality solutions that support enterprise platforms and business workflows. Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain scalable applications and services using Java (Spring, Vaadin), following the best practices. Build and manage RESTful APIs and frontend and backend components with strong focus on performance, security, and reliability. Develop system integrations and workflows across enterprise platforms using APIs and events. Contribute to CI/CD, Containerization, and DevOps practices to improve delivery speed and operational stability. Ensure code quality and production readiness through testing, reviews, documentation, and adherence to best practices. Collaborate with engineers, analysts, and QA to deliver secure, highquality solutions and mentor team members as needed. Required Qualifications 4 years of professional experience in software engineering, with strong backend development focus. Strong handson expertise in Java, building productiongrade backend services and APIs. Proven experience designing and implementing RESTful APIs and microservices using Java. Solid understanding of backend architecture patterns, including BackendforFrontend (BFF), microservices and serviceoriented design. Experience with authentication and authorization mechanisms such as OAuth2, JWT, and SSO. Strong knowledge of relational database design and SQL (PostgreSQL or equivalent) Experience building and deploying applications in a cloud environment (GCP, AWS, or Azure). Familiarity with containerization and CI/CD practices (Docker, pipelines, automated deployments). Proficiency with Gitbased workflows, code reviews, and collaborative development. Strong problemsolving, debugging, and analytical skills, with an ownership mindset. Test-Driven Development and Unit Testing experience Experience working in distributed team environments using version control, code reviews, and standard DevOps practices Preferred Skills Experience with GCP services such as Cloud Run, GKE, Cloud Functions, and Cloud SQL, BigQuery Familiarity with eventdriven and asynchronous systems (Kafka, Pub/Sub, RabbitMQ, or Service Bus). Experience with cloudnative patterns and infrastructureascode (Terraform or equivalent). Knowledge of NoSQL databases and cloud data lakes. Exposure to GraphQL and modern API design patterns. Experience working in Agile / distributed teams on enterprise platforms. Familiarity with AI developer tools (e.g., Copilot, Claude Code) and automation workflows. Background in enterprise system integration Soft Skills Strong ownership mindset with ability to drive work independently from design to production. Excellent communication and collaboration skills across engineering, QA, and business teams. Ability to mentor and guide other engineers through reviews and technical discussions. Strong problemsolving and analytical thinking skills. Comfortable working in ambiguous problem spaces and evolving requirements. Attention to detail with a focus on quality, security, and maintainability. Proactive, continuouslearning attitude with interest in emerging cloud and AI technologies.
