Job Title:Geoscience Data Manager (Seismic) Grade P4Job Summary:Seeking dynamic, creative, and resourceful candidate(s) to provide subsurface data management services for a leading energy company based in Europe. The candidate(s) will interact with the business users, product vendors, IT infrastructure team and must exhibit a strong understanding and analytical skills. The Geoscience Data Manager (seismic) will implement the loading, QC, management, organization, and maintenance of primarily seismic data within the geoscience department. The candidate will work closely with geologists, geophysicists, Petro-physicists, well engineers and other client stakeholders to understand data requirements and priorities.Primary Job Requirements:Knowledge of Oil and Gas upstream workflows, applications, data, and technology.Expertise in business workflow knowledge including Data loading, QC/Preprocessing of data, viewing data in different formats (cross-sections/maps/3D views).Strong Geosciences Software knowledge for seismic data import and export, data formats management & transformation and various CRS systems.Hands-on experience in seismic data reformatting (SEG-Y, SEG-D, etc) using industry standard tools.Strong knowledge of various types of datasets involved in Geophysical processing and data acquisition.Strong knowledge of Geoscience data loading into reference databases (eg studio) and applications (eg Petrel, Sismage).Knowledge of Reservoir, geology or geophysics specialty.Experience in industry standard applications like Sismage-CIG, Petrel, IX, Eclipse will be preferred.Working knowledge of Time-depth conversion and seismic to well tie.Strong understanding of data governance and security, with the ability to establish data policies and ensure data privacy and compliance.Strong knowledge on unix commands.Strong knowledge of the fundamental concepts of data management in the Azure Cloud.Ability to propose technical improvements (architecture, servers, tape drives, etc).Coordinate the acquisition of seismic data from various sources, ensuring data quality and accuracy.Integrate diverse datasets to create comprehensive geoscience databases for analysis and interpretation.Maintain data integrity and security protocols to safeguard proprietary information.Establish and enforce data quality standards and procedures to maintain high-quality datasets.Conduct regular audits and validation checks to identify and rectify data discrepancies.Document data management processes, workflows, and standards.Generate regular reports on data inventory, usage metrics, and compliance with data governance policies.Knowledge of industry best practices, emerging technologies, and regulatory requirements related to geoscience data management.Ability to identify opportunities for process improvements and implement enhancements to optimize data workflows.Secondary Job Requirements:Strong knowledge of various Data models (OSDU / PPDM Data Platform)Strong Working knowledge and experience of Agile methodology /Scrum/ ADO boardExperience in working with ServiceNow or similar applications will be an added advantage.Education and Experience:8 years of related experience in oil & gas upstream / subsurface areaBachelors or Masters degree in Geoscience, Geology, Geophysics, Engineering or a related field from a recognized university with working experience as a Geoscientist in the E&P/ Service industry.Proven experience in geoscience data management, particularly with seismic datasets.Communicate effectively with internal teams and external partners to ensure alignment on data management objectives.
