Job Description

    As a Data Analyst for the Securities Master Central (SMC) team, your role involves performing data analysis for complex systems and front to back flows. You will be responsible for reverse engineering functional specifications from data and collaborating closely with End Users/Clients to understand Business Process, Industry Standards, and Regulatory Mandate requirements. Working in coordination with IT and Operations partners, you will also engage with external data vendors like Bloomberg, Reuters, IDC, Markit, etc, and standards organizations. Your ability to execute projects independently, conduct Systems Integrated Testing (SIT) and User Acceptance Testing (UAT), as well as create Function Specification Documents (FSD), System Requirement Specification (SRS), and test plans will be crucial for the role.Key Responsibilities:- Perform data analysis for complex systems and front to back flows- Reverse engineer functional specifications from data- Collaborate with End Users/Clients to understand Business Process, Industry Standards, and Regulatory Mandate requirements- Work closely with IT and Operations partners- Engage with external data vendors and standards organizations- Execute projects independently- Conduct Systems Integrated Testing (SIT) and User Acceptance Testing (UAT)- Create Function Specification Documents (FSD), System Requirement Specification (SRS), and test plansQualifications:- 6 to 9 years of working experience as a Business Analyst or Data Analyst- Strong background in financial reference data and capital markets asset classes such as fixed income, equities, and derivatives- Strong SQL knowledge required for data querying, analysis, and troubleshooting- Strong data analysis and mapping skills- Knowledge of MS Excel and Visio- College degree, specialized training, or equivalent work experience- Data-oriented with excellent attention to detail- Experience/understanding of business process reengineering and business modeling concepts, systems development lifecycle- Strong analytical and writing skills, including experience in writing functional and technical specifications- Good communication skills with assertiveness- Ability to focus on high-quality work under pressure- Experience utilizing various SDLC methodologies like Waterfall, Agile (JIRA, etc.)- Comprehensive knowledge of the Testing Lifecycle with SIT, UAT, and ProductionPreferred Skills:- Experience working with major vendor data providers like Bloomberg, Reuters, IDC- Experience collaborating with IT Project managers and development teams- Experience with vendor product implementation,
