Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated, hands-on, and experienced Tech Lead to join our growing engineering team. In this critical role, you will be responsible for leading and mentoring a team of talented engineers, driving the technical direction of our backend, and ensuring the successful delivery of high-quality software solutions. You will work closely with Product Managers, cross-functional teams, and stakeholders to translate business requirements into robust and scalable technical solutions.As a Tech Lead at Amber, you will own the overall architecture and design of our systems, ensuring scalability, performance, maintainability, and security. It is essential to be hands-on in Ruby, Python, SQL, NoSQL, and event-based systems. You will mentor and guide engineers on technical best practices, problem-solving, and career development, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous learning within the team.You will collaborate closely with Product Managers to understand business requirements and translate them into technical specifications, evaluating the technical feasibility and impact of product features. Additionally, you will contribute to the definition and refinement of product roadmaps, ensuring alignment with business goals.In terms of team management, you will lead and motivate a high-performing team of engineers, conduct performance reviews, provide constructive feedback, and guide their career growth. You will develop a proactive and ownership culture while fostering a positive and inclusive team environment.System operations will also be under your purview, where you will monitor system performance, identify and resolve issues proactively, implement and maintain robust monitoring and alerting systems, and automate processes to improve efficiency and reliability. You will also explore and evaluate emerging technologies for potential application to our products and drive the adoption of AI/ML solutions to enhance product features and improve business outcomes.Qualifications:- Bachelors degree in Computer Science or a related field.- At least 5 years of professional experience in software engineering, with a strong focus on backend development.- At least 1 year of experience leading and mentoring engineering teams.- Proven experience in designing, developing, and deploying scalable and high-performance backend systems.- Proficiency in at least one backend programming language, preferably Ruby or Python.- Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).- Understanding of DevOps principles and experience with CI/CD pipelines and automation tools.- Good communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.- Mindset of Continuous Improvement and proactive hiring to achieve business goals.At Amber, you can expect fast-paced growth with the opportunity to skip intermediate levels, total freedom and authority to get the job done, an open and inclusive environment, and great compensation along with ESOPS.,
