We serve 99% of the Fortune 100, 90% of the Fortune 500, and are the market leader in Software-defined Storage, Data Protection, and Archiving.What you will be doing:The mission of the Production and Infrastructure team, as a part of Veritas Labs, is to provide data center services, lab infrastructure and network support, specific to the Veritas development teams. The team specializes in the areas of access, network, storage, virtualization, security, and backup of engineering build environments with emphasis on maintaining service uptime and high availability. The main focuses of this position will be in automated Linux and UNIX configuration management.What skills, experience and education you need as a team member to succeed:
    • System Administration
      • Use of ansible and other tools to maintain configuration standards and patch levels
      • Strong system administration skills in Linux (RHEL/SLES) and UNIX (Solaris/AIX/HPUX)
      • NFS and SMB administration
      • Maintain production HA aimed to achieve high uptime on critical systems, including OS, storage systems, and network devices.
    • Virtualization
      • Ideally know at least two of the virtualization technologies like VMware, Solaris LDOMs/zones, IBM LPARs, HP VPARs
    • Communication and Other skills
      • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
      • Must be able to work independently with little monitoring/guidance.
      • Participate in an on-call rotation for critical services and systems
    Optional
    • Storage Administration
      • Knowledge of multiple storage arrays from Dell/HP/Netapp/EMC
      • Knowledge of Brocade SAN administration
      • Certification in any storage area is an added plus.
    • Network Administration
      • Knowledge of enterprise network vendor hardware configuration (layer 2 and 3)
      • Understanding of subnetting, VLANs, and the OSI model
    Education Required:
    • Candidates with a degree/diploma in engineering discipline (Electronics / Computer Science /Computer Engineering) preferred.
    • Candidates with any degree with relevant experience will be considered.
    Experience
    • Should have 8 years or more work experience in the system administration field.
