The Shipping Incharge oversees and coordinates all aspects of shipping operations, ensuring goods are dispatched, delivered, and received on time. This role involves supervising shipping staff, maintaining records, ensuring compliance with shipping regulations, and improving overall efficiency. The Shipping Incharge plays a crucial role in ensuring smooth logistics operations while maintaining quality and cost efficiency.Key Responsibilities:
1. Daily Operations:
   • Plan and organize the shipping schedule for outgoing and incoming shipments.
   • Oversee the loading, unloading, and dispatch of goods to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
   • Monitor shipments and address any issues or delays promptly.
2. Team Supervision:
   • Manage and assign tasks to shipping staff, including loaders, drivers, and clerks.
   • Train staff on proper shipping protocols, safety standards, and company procedures.
   • Ensure smooth communication and coordination among team members.
3. Inventory and Documentation:
   • Maintain accurate records of all shipments, including invoices, packing lists, and delivery notes.
   • Verify shipping documents for accuracy and completeness before dispatch.
   • Coordinate with the warehouse team to ensure correct inventory levels for shipment preparation.
4. Carrier Coordination:
   • Liaise with freight carriers, couriers, and third-party logistics providers to schedule pickups and deliveries.
   • Negotiate transportation rates to ensure cost-effective shipping solutions.
   • Track shipments and provide updates to relevant stakeholders.
5. Compliance and Safety:
   • Ensure all shipping operations comply with legal and company regulations, including customs and export/import laws.
   • Monitor the handling of hazardous materials and ensure proper labeling and documentation.
   • Implement safety protocols for shipping and warehouse staff.
6. Customer Service:
   • Address customer inquiries and concerns related to shipments and deliveries.
   • Resolve issues such as damaged or lost goods quickly and effectively.
   • Work closely with the sales or customer service team to meet customer expectations.
7. Process Optimization:
   • Analyze shipping processes to identify inefficiencies and implement improvements.
   • Develop and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs) for shipping operations.
   • Stay updated on industry trends and recommend new methods or tools for efficiency.
Qualifications and Skills:
• Education: High school diploma or equivalent (a degree in logistics, supply chain, or a related field is a plus).
• Experience:
  • 35 years of experience in shipping, logistics, or a related role.
  • Supervisory experience preferred.
• Skills:
  • Strong knowledge of shipping procedures, regulations, and documentation.
  • Proficiency in logistics and shipping software/tools.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities.
  • Effective communication and problem-solving skills.
