As a Senior Software Engineer within the Engineering Team, you will play a crucial role in developing scalable, high-performance backend services, ensuring high availability and reliability in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment. This role is remote, based in Pune, requiring candidates to reside within the Pune metropolitan area.Key Responsibilities:- Design, develop, and deploy highly scalable microservices using Java Spring Boot and Go.- Optimize and maintain database schemas and queries in MySQL.- Implement event-driven architecture solutions with Kafka, Airflow, and AWS Step functions.- Collaborate with QA and other team members to define and execute features.- Participate in code reviews, technical design discussions, and setting engineering best practices.- Drive the adoption of robust engineering practices, including unit/integration testing and CI/CD pipelines.- Own the performance, availability, and observability of services in production.- Investigate and resolve complex technical issues across multiple services and platforms.- Ensure robust data isolation and security measures in a high-volume, multi-tenant system.Qualifications:Minimum Qualifications:- 5 years of professional software engineering experience in backend services.- Expertise in Java and hands-on experience with the Spring Boot framework.- Proficiency in relational databases, specifically MySQL.- Understanding of distributed systems and message queuing technologies like Kafka.- Experience with multi-tenant architectures and the Go language for microservices.- Knowledge of containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) and a major cloud provider (AWS, GCP, Azure).- Strong computer science fundamentals related to building reliable distributed systems.Preferred Qualifications:- Experience with Go language in a production environment.- Prior senior role experience providing technical leadership and resolving real-time system challenges.- Effective team player with excellent communication skills.- Hands-on experience with workflow orchestration tools (Airflow, Step Functions).- Familiarity with NoSQL databases, caching solutions, observability, monitoring, and advanced database knowledge.- Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.(Note: Omitting the additional details of the company as there are none mentioned in the provided job description) Role Overview:Medallia is the pioneer and market leader in Experience Management.
