Roles and responsibilities Data Scientist, will be responsible for determining and enriching internal and external datasources for use in predictive analytics solutions.As the data science team member, you will be responsible foraccelerating, innovating, and improving productivity for our clients, products, and employees leveraging enterprise data products and advanced analytics.In addition to execution, this role partners across thebank to address priorities (e.g. automation, digitization and optimizationetc.). You will work with both technical and business organization to deliversolutions to complex business and process issues, identify actionableopportunities for improvement, and deliver financial impact to the firm. This position will be responsible for designing and implementing data transformations andmodels using internal and external data for predictive analytics applicationsfor cloud environments. Looks for new and better ways to improve theenvironment, ensuring a quality product.Responsibilities include, butnot limited to: Provide expertise in big datapipelining (ingestion, transformation, visualization, building and optimizingclassifiers - (Regression/ KNN Classification / Random Forest / SVM etc.) usingmachine learning and deep- learning based techniques)Provide expertise in definingarchitectures and implementing systems for data pipelining for PredictiveAnalytics and Machine Learning applications.Provide excellent analyticalskills to mine data, model data, develop algorithms and analyze results todetermine decisions or actionsCreate / contribute to thecreation of new innovation project proposals including the pre- socializationwith stakeholders, the creation of business cases, cost and revenueprojections.Manage multiple concurrentinitiatives and projects of varying sizes & complexityEffective upward and downwardcommunication on all notable progress to all key stakeholdersQualifications Bachelors degree in computer science or arelated discipline, or equivalent work experience required, advanced degree isbeneficial, 7- 10 years of diverse experience in information technologyrequired, experience in the securities or financial services industry is aplus.Must have strong analytical andproblem- solving skills and quickly learn new application systems andtechnology. Experience with determining theinternal and external (structured and unstructured) data required for variedPredictive Analytics solutions, Experience with definingarchitectures and implementing systems for data pipelining for PredictiveAnalytics and Machine Learning applications.Experience with processingunstructured data; natural language processing (NLP), classifying, categorizationExperience with big dataingestion, transformation, Experience with the metadata and techniquesrequired for identifying, tracking (pedigree/ lineage), confidence, provenance, and security of datasets, files, and objects.Experience with NoSQL graph databasetechnology.Experience with the Agile methodology. Experience working in geographically dispersedteamsExperience working with large databases (MSSQL Server, Oracle, Vertica)Comfortable working withgeographically dispersed teamExcellent collaboration andcommunication skills (oral, written)Ability to problem solve andperformance tune in a high paced development environmentNice to have Core development experience inJava technologies (e.g. JEE, JSP, Servlets, EIP, XML/ XSLT, JSON, SQL, JavaScript, Python, PowerShell, Bash)Understanding of serviceorientated multi- tiered application architecture utilizing web servicestandards and protocols (REST, JSON)Familiar with release managementand version control including GITComfortable with a range ofproject and software development methodologies experience with agilescrum preferableFamiliar with ContinuousIntegration, micro services, API Management, and containerarchitecture (Docker, Kubernetes) Previous experience in AWS(IaaS, PaaS) , Azure (IaaS, PaaS, Office 365) architecture, design anddevelopmentBNY Mellon is an Equal Employment Opportunity Employer.
