Job Description

Your responsibilities include owning the overall architecture and design of our systems, ensuring scalability, performance, maintainability, and security. You will work hands-on with Ruby, Python, SQL, NoSQL, and event-based systems to build highly scalable complex distributed systems. Additionally, you will mentor and guide engineers on technical best practices and foster a culture of innovation and continuous learning within the team.Collaboration with Product Managers is essential to understand business requirements and translate them into technical specifications. You will also evaluate the technical feasibility and impact of product features and contribute to the definition and refinement of product roadmaps.In terms of team management, you will lead and motivate a high-performing team of engineers, conduct performance reviews, provide constructive feedback, and guide their career growth. Developing a proactive and ownership culture, as well as fostering a positive and inclusive team environment, are key aspects of this role.System operations will also be under your purview, including monitoring system performance, identifying and resolving issues proactively, implementing and maintaining robust monitoring and alerting systems, and automating to improve efficiency and reliability. Moreover, you will explore and evaluate emerging technologies and drive the adoption of AI/ML solutions to enhance product features and improve business outcomes.To be successful in this role, you need a Bachelors degree in Computer Science or a related field, at least 5 years of professional experience in software engineering with a strong focus on backend development, and at least 1 year of experience leading and mentoring engineering teams. Proficiency in at least one backend programming language, preferably Ruby or Python, along with experience in cloud platforms and containerization technologies, is required. Understanding DevOps principles and having experience with CI/CD pipelines and automation tools are also necessary skills.
