Job Description

    Job Summary: The Purchase Engineer is responsible for sourcing, negotiating , and procuring high-quality components and services essential for project execution. This role ensures that the procurement processes align with project timelines, cost constraints, and quality standards while fostering strong supplier relationships.Key Responsibilities: Procurement Planning: Understand project and production requirements and plan procurement accordingly. Identify and evaluate potential vendors based on price, quality, and delivery capabilities. Prepare procurement strategies to ensure timely availability of materials. Vendor Development and Management: Develop and maintain reliable supplier base for mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic components. Conduct regular vendor assessments and performance reviews. Negotiate pricing, contracts, and payment terms to optimize cost-efficiency.Purchase Execution: Issue Purchase Orders (PO) as per project schedules. Monitor order status and coordinate logistics for timely delivery. Ensure compliance with company procurement policies and quality standards.Cost and Inventory Control: Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and delivery schedules. Collaborate with inventory and accounts departments for proper stock and cost management. Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement measures to reduce procurement expenses.Quality Assurance and Coordination:Ensure procured items meet technical and quality requirements. Collaborate with the design and production teams to resolve material or component issues. Handle non-conformance issues with vendors and coordinate corrective actions.Documentation and Reporting:Maintain all documentation related to procurement activities including PO, delivery challans, invoices, and quality reports. Generate and present purchase reports, supplier evaluation reports, and cost analysis.Qualifications: Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field. Addi onal cer fica ons in supply chain or materials management are a plus.Experience: 1-3 years of experience in procurement/purchase engineering preferably in the automa on, SPM, or manufacturing industry.Skills: Strong knowledge of mechanical components and bought-out parts. Proficient in using ERP or procurement so ware. Good nego a on and vendor management skills. Excellent organiza onal and me management abili es. Strong communica on and interpersonal skills. Salary: As per the experience and our company standards. Work Environment: Primarily office-based, but may require visits to vendor loca ons or project sites as necessary.
