Job Description

The Warehouse Manager oversees the efficient receipt, storage, and dispatch of goods, ensuring that workplace health and safety standards are maintained. The role involves managing people, processes, and systems to ensure productivity targets are met and that all warehouse operations run smoothly and efficiently.Key Responsibilities:
1. Operations Management:
   • Plan, coordinate, and monitor the receipt, storage, and dispatch of goods.
   • Ensure stock control systems are up-to-date and accurate.
   • Organize and maintain inventory and storage areas for maximum efficiency.
   • Implement and enforce operational policies and procedures.
2. Team Leadership:
   • Recruit, train, and supervise warehouse staff.
   • Assign tasks and monitor employee performance to ensure efficiency and adherence to standards.
   • Provide ongoing coaching and support to staff to foster professional development.
   • Ensure team adherence to safety protocols and workplace regulations.
3. Safety and Compliance:
   • Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by establishing, following, and enforcing standards and procedures.
   • Comply with legal regulations, including health, safety, and environmental standards.
   • Oversee equipment maintenance and resolve any safety concerns promptly.
4. Process Improvement:
   • Develop and implement process improvements to optimize operations and reduce costs.
   • Monitor performance metrics and address inefficiencies proactively.
   • Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless supply chain processes.
5. Communication and Reporting:
   • Liaise with suppliers, transport companies, and customers to ensure timely delivery of goods.
   • Prepare and present regular reports on warehouse operations, inventory levels, and performance metrics.
   • Handle and resolve customer complaints or operational issues effectively.
Qualifications and Skills:
• Proven experience as a Warehouse Manager or in a similar role.
• Strong knowledge of warehouse operations, inventory management, and logistics.
• Proficiency in warehouse management software (e.g., WMS) and MS Office.
• Excellent leadership and team management skills.
• Strong organizational and time management skills with attention to detail.
• Knowledge of workplace safety and compliance regulations.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
Education and Experience:
• Bachelors degree in logistics, supply chain management, business administration, or a related field (preferred).
• 5 years of experience in warehouse management or a similar role.
• Certifications in supply chain management or logistics (e.g., APICS, CSCMP) are an advantage.
Working Conditions:
• Fast-paced warehouse environment with physical activity and occasional lifting.
• May involve shift work, overtime, or weekend schedules, depending on operational needs.
