Job Description

Job Summary As a Software Development Engineer in the Product UX organization, help build our content publishing infrastructure. Enable an efficient and scalable authoring and publishing environment for user interface strings and documentation in our products and across multiple channels, including Avalara Help Center, Developer.Avalara.com and Avalara University. Your Mission Build, maintain, and scale learning automation infrastructure, including continuous integration, release, and configuration management across global sites Automate release notes and taxation information from multiple sources and publish to external endpoints Execute tests and determine the root-cause of issues found for functional, negative, regression testing Manage all sustained engineering activities and maintenance of automation infrastructure Knowledge, Qualifications

  • 3-5 years experience in object-oriented languages (e.g., C# and Java)
  • 3-5 years experience scripting languages (e.g., JavaScript, Python, and Node)
  • Working knowledge of modern, continuous development techniques and pipelines on cloud platforms (e.g., Agile, Kanban, CI/CD, Jenkins, Git, and Artifactory)
  • Experience building and maintaining automation infrastructure for continuous integration and deployment
  • Working knowledge of automation frameworks for various platforms and technologies
  • Experience in Agile methodologies and collaborative work-tracking tools like JIRA
  • Experience working on RESTful web services Experience with RDBMS Experience understanding complex requirements and designing test plans
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills and time management skills with strong attention to detail
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience deploying and maintaining enterprise web content management systems (CMS) such as Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) Experience with Salesforce development Experience with DITA and structured XML documentation A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
