Power Plant HeadJob Summary:Power Plant Head is responsible for overseeing the entire operation, maintenance, and efficiency of the power plant. This includes ensuring optimal performance, adherence to safety regulations, and implementing best engineering practices to achieve operational excellence. The role requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and strategic decision-making to enhance plant efficiency and sustainability.Key Responsibilities:1. Plant Operations & Maintenance:Oversee the daily operations of the power plant to ensure smooth functionality.Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance programs.Monitor and optimize power generation, fuel consumption, and overall plant efficiency.Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, safety protocols, and environmental policies.Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues affecting plant performance.2. Engineering & Technical Leadership:Lead the engineering team in designing and executing improvements for plant efficiency.Evaluate and implement new technologies for energy efficiency and cost reduction.Ensure proper documentation of all engineering processes, maintenance activities, and upgrades.Supervise the implementation of automation and control systems.3. Team Management & Leadership:Manage, train, and mentor a team of engineers, technicians, and support staff.Develop and enforce performance benchmarks for staff and operational procedures.Foster a culture of safety, continuous improvement, and teamwork.4. Budgeting & Cost Control:Plan and manage the plants operational and maintenance budgets.Identify cost-saving opportunities while maintaining operational efficiency.Optimize fuel, spare parts, and resource consumption to maximize profitability.5. Regulatory Compliance & Safety:Ensure adherence to local and international regulations regarding power plant operations.Implement safety protocols to prevent accidents and hazards.Conduct regular audits and inspections to identify potential risks.6. Project Management & Upgrades:Lead plant expansion, renovation, and upgrade projects.Collaborate with vendors, contractors, and government agencies for infrastructure improvements.Ensure timely completion of projects within budget and quality standards.Qualifications & Requirements:Education: Bachelors/Masters degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Power Engineering.Experience: 15 years of experience in power plant operations, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.Skills:Strong knowledge of power plant processes (thermal, hydro, gas, or renewable energy).Expertise in plant maintenance, automation, and control systems.Leadership and team management skills.Knowledge of regulatory compliance and safety protocols.Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.Budgeting and financial planning experience.Preferred Qualifications:Certification in power plant operation & maintenance.Experience with renewable energy integration.Knowledge of environmental and sustainability practices in power generation.
