Section Engineer

Job Description

The role of the Section Engineer is to plan, provide engineering control and superviseproduction resources, ensuring compliance with project and company systems for a definedsection of the works.Key Responsibilities:Health, safety and environmentPromote the Barhale Cardinal Rules and establish safe working cultures and practicesComply with company procedures and legal obligationsPromote and comply with environmental complianceDeliver the works safelyQualityPromote best practiceComply with Company proceduresEnsure work is delivered defect/snag freeCarry out instrumental checks in accordance with the agreed guidelines and scheduleComplete records of quality audits in accordance with agreed procedures and timescales i.e.at the end of worksGive feedback to the Site Agent regarding areas where corrective action needs to be takenwith the appropriate level of urgency, of the risks associated with non-conformance duringinspectionsEngineering controlUnderstand and interpret the drawings and specificationsProvide engineering expertise and support to the project teamEnsure accurate implementation of all engineering controlsProduce accurate as built records of the worksProduce Inspection and Test Plans for all elements of the works and supervises the deliveryof the planMeasure and report compliance with systems and required standardsProduce risk assessments and method statements for safe execution of the worksManaging resourcesDeal with any actual or potential problems with resources promptly liaising with the SiteAgent where necessaryEnsure that records of resources are complete and accurateOrganise and conduct toolbox talks and issue specific method statements in line withorganisational and legal requirementsDevelop and maintain positive working relationships between operatives and staff; client andcontractor; suppliers and contractors; public and contractors; and sub-contractors andcontractors
