Job Description

The Head of Procurement will lead the procurement strategy for the organization, ensuring cost efficiency, supply security, risk mitigation, and alignment with organizational goals.The role oversees strategic sourcing of raw materials, drives supplier development and performance; and ensures risk mitigation. The role will also strengthen procurement governance, category management, and digital/e-procurement adoption while collaborating closely with Operations and Maintenance to ensure uninterrupted, high-quality supply.The job requires developing and maintaining an overarching logistics strategy for Safe. Reliable and competitive logistics solution in line with the best in class practices and standardsKEY RESPONSIBILITIES:- Define procurement strategies, KPIs, and annual category plans aligned with business objectives- Lead sourcing initiatives for raw materials, furnace/line upgrades, and indirect categories using advanced levers (reverse auctions, consolidation, cost modeling)- Facilitate commodity studies, supply market intelligence, and identify alternate vendors/materials to strengthen competitiveness- Manage end-to-end procurement for furnace rebuilds, IS machines, compressors, utilities, and energy systems- Evaluate technical specifications, assess OEMs, and negotiate turnkey contracts- Lead negotiations for major procurements and harmonize contracting terms with emphasis on price transparency and open-book costingCost Optimization & Value Engineering:- Drive total-cost-of-ownership and should-cost models across categories- Lead cost reduction initiatives collaboratively with operations, quality, and R&D, including batch optimization, cullet utilization, and alternative material assessmentSupplier Relationship Management:- Develop and maintain strategic supplier relationships locally and globally- Oversee vendor panel management, capability building, quality issue resolution, and claims management- Conduct supplier financial appraisals and compliance auditsProcurement Operations & Digital Transformation:- Ensure 100% PO compliance and adherence to procurement policies, quality standards, and ethical sourcing- Optimize ERP (SAP/Oracle) usage and automate P2P processes. Deploy dashboards for spend visibility, savings tracking, and supplier performance metrics- Lead next-gen technology adoption and coordinate with IT on system implementation.- Administer and fine-tune MRP outputs to align with production requirements and inventory strategiesTeam Leadership and Stakeholder Management:- Lead procurement team (category managers, purchase executives, plant buyers), building capabilities in strategic sourcing, analytics, and supplier management- Present KPIs, cost savings, and risk mitigation updates to CXOs and Board leadershipESG, Sustainability & Compliance:- Champion energy reduction and green-material sourcing- Track EPR obligations and increase cullet percentage through recycling supplier development- Monitor SDG adherence and Scope 2 emissions trackingINTERACTIONS- Communicate effectively across all levels - professional managers (CXOs) & promoter family & board.- Coordinate with central Category Managers and plant Purchase Heads.- Collaborate closely with operations, finance, quality, logistics, and R&D.PROFILE DETAILS- B.E./B.Tech MBA- 20-25 years of procurement / sourcing experience - Proven track record in strategic sourcing, vendor negotiations, contract management, and Capex procurement- Experience leading procurement teams and driving digital procurement processes- Strategic Negotiations- Stakeholder Management (External/ Internal)If you are interested kindly send their updated resume on this id hidden_email & call for more details at hidden_mobile
