Job Description

    School LibrarianLocation: ThaneIndustry: Education / SchoolExperience: 25 YearsQualification: B.Lib.I.Sc / M.Lib.I.Sc (Library & Information Science)Job SummaryWe are looking for a dedicated and organized School Librarian to manage library operations, maintain resources, and promote reading habits among students. The ideal candidate should have knowledge of library management systems and experience handling school library activities.Key Responsibilities
    • Manage day-to-day library operations, including issue and return of books.
    • Maintain library records, cataloguing, classification, and inventory management.
    • Operate Library Management Software (Koha/LMS) for database maintenance.
    • Assist students and teachers with book selection and reference services.
    • Develop and organize reading programs, storytelling sessions, and literary activities.
    • Coordinate with teachers for curriculum-based book selection and learning resources.
    • Ensure proper arrangement and preservation of library materials.
    • Maintain updated records of new books, journals, and educational resources.
    • Support students in developing reading and research skills.
    Required Skills
    • Knowledge of cataloguing and classification systems.
    • Experience with Library Automation Software (Koha preferred).
    • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to engage with students and support learning activities.
    • Strong organizational and record-keeping abilities.
    Eligibility
    • Bachelors/Masters degree in Library & Information Science.
    • Prior experience in a school/academic library is preferred.
    • Candidates from Thane or nearby locations will be preferred.
    Salary: As per industry standards and experience.
