Job Description

Working as part of the Global Operations support team, and reporting to the team lead for Banking, the Senior Oracle DBA will be the primary technical resource in developing and maintaining Finastra s large and complex Oracle database infrastructure. Knowledge of US and European banking industries is an asset. The incumbent is driven to leverage their expertise, to improve on existing Products, and drive innovation for future Products/ Releases, in the quickly changing environments. Working closely with DevOps / Engineering, and other Operations teams, the incumbent is responsible for advising, building and/ or managing business critical Oracle Databases to support multiple products at Finastra. If not actively engaged in bringing Releases or New Products to market, they will be supporting, enhancing, upgrading, and tuning existing Oracle databases, in Production operations. They will also work with DevOps, to provide advice on Oracle DB best practices, and/ or feedback as part of the continuous product improvement. Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) is an integral part of Operations management. Our future state is to leverage OEM for more than monitoring/ alerting and tuning . Our next phase will be focused on leveraging OEM for automation, deployments, patching, compliance, among leveraging other features. Experience with OEM is strongly desired, as we build our future, and grow to be number one in the Financial Technology industry. Responsibilities & Deliverables: Support, administer and maintain the Oracle database environments. Participate in On- Call Respond to incidents and provide RCA and resolution. Create new database environments (DEV/ QA/ UAT/ Production/ Standby) to support development and product progression. Responsible for project work package breakdown and effort estimation. Perform Releases and Implementation to all database environments. Responsible for storage estimation & forecast. Install, configure and manage RAC. Patch and upgrade databases. Identify and recommend solution to performance issues on Oracle DBs. Manage and monitor alerts for all DBs using OEM12c and/ or OEM13c. Configure, setup, maintain database security and auditing. Disaster Recovery planning and implementation. Using RAT, SPA to during upgrade to reduce risk. Manage and monitor backups on weekly basis. Build, support and manage the DR environment. Test and certify database upgrades and patches. Required Experience: Must have 5- 7 years of experience managing large and complex OLTP and warehouse databases using Oracle, with bulk/ recent of experience in 11g / 12c Must have 5- 7 years of experience in managing Oracle databases on Solaris/ AIX / Linux / Windows platforms. Preference given to Cloud Experience Azure, Oracle, AWS Experience with Multi/ Single Tenant DBs Experience Oracle tools/ products: Data Guard, ASM, RAC, AWR, Golden Gate, and OEM Experience in tuning, monitoring, and securing Oracle databases Experience in managing and tuning OLTP / DW databases Experience in SQL / PLSQL development and tuning; NIX shell scripting Experience in operational and incident management/ resolution ( ITIL preferred ) Strong documentation skills Nice to have: MySQL, MariaDB, Ansible The above statements describe the general nature and level of work being performed by people assigned to this job.
