Job Description

    Position DescriptionBusiness Division:PI Enzyme & Fermentation TechnologyDepartment:Molecular BiologyLocation:UdaipurPosition Title:Research Scientist Molecular BiologyLevel:E1-E4Reporting to (Title):Team Leader - Molecular BiologyPosition PurposeThe role holder shall report to the team leader and shall perform research activities (cloning, expression in Bacteria, Yeast, fungal and mammalian systems), and engineering of proteins - directed evolution.Strategic ResponsibilitiesResearch Activities Design, plan, assist and execute assigned molecular biology work Develop skills and capability in molecular biology domain Build intellectual proficiency in molecular biology Plan experiments to investigate and analyse candidate enzyme for their potential use in crop protection / growth activators under supervision of the team leader. Prepare and operate complex instrumentation required for the experiments. Conduct experiments,executes advanced analytical techniques on candidate molecules to extend scientific theories and explore their practical application. Tabulate results, analyze and extrapolate results data to develop theories for explaining observed phenomenon.Documentation Document and record findings in research reports / papers for further dessimination / filing.Process Adherance & improvements Adhere to all safety / information security / quality norms related to research procedures. Participate in process improvement inititatives under direction of Head Enzyme & Fermentation.Knowledge Management Participate in knowledge management initiatives by contributing to KM portal. Contribute to competitor intelligence through secondary research , participation in internal / external forums, professional organizational networks. Identify and utilize best practices in formulation development.Reporting Update timesheets / progress trackers and submit to supervisor as directed.Operational ResponsibilitiesFinancial ResponsibilitiesPeople Responsibilities Lead own professional development through continuous learning and development initiatives within and outside the organization. Collaborate with team members and cross functional teams to ensure meeting research objectives.Education QualificationCandidates with Ph.D/M. Tech/M.S/B.Tech from reputed universities from India or abroad with specialization in molecular biology /biotechnology from reputed University / Institute with excellent academic credentials.Work Experience2-3 years of post-academic industrial research experienceIndustry to be Hired fromAgro Chemical / Pharma / Research Universities or InstitutesFunctional Competencies Excellent clinical and laboratory skills including knowledge of lab procedures (experience in handling of microbials highly appreciated), equipment and protocols. Strong exposure to various analytical/preparatory platforms such as HPLC/FPLC, GC, MS.
