Job Description

As a computational chemist in the agrochemical industry, you will be responsible for leveraging your quantum chemistry skills to optimize chemical processes and develop new products. Your role will involve:- Having a thorough understanding of DFT and ab initio electronic structure theory methods.- Proficiency in Quantum Chemistry based software tools such as Turbomole, Gaussian, deMon, GAMESS-US, Quantum espresso, VASP, etc.- Ability to work with scripting languages like Bash, Python, Perl, etc., in a Linux environment and on high-performance computing platforms.- Experience in using electronic structure based software tools to analyze chemical reactivity and reaction mechanisms.- Preferred experience in catalyst design and using data-based models for process optimization.- Utilizing in-house experimental data and model parameters for predictive modeling and statistics.Furthermore, you should possess a working knowledge of classical methods like force fields and molecular dynamics simulations. Your ability to collaborate in a multidisciplinary scientific environment and effectively communicate technical results to experimentalists will be crucial for success in this role.Ideally, you should have:- 3 years of postdoc or industrial experience in a related field.- A PhD in Chemistry/Physics specializing in Theoretical Chemistry/Computational Chemistry/Chemical Physics or a related discipline.- Excellent academic credentials from a reputed University/Institute in India or overseas.This position offers an excellent opportunity for you to apply your expertise in computational chemistry to drive innovation and optimization within the agrochemical industry.,
