Job Description

    Responsibilities Patient Assessment and Treatment Planning: Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients with disabilities, evaluating their mobility challenges, anatomical considerations, and functional needs. Collaborate with physicians, physical therapists, and other healthcare professionals to develop individualized treatment plans. Prosthetic and Orthotic Device Design and Fabrication: Design and fabricate prosthetic and orthotic devices tailored to the specific needs and anatomies of patients with disabilities. Utilize advanced technologies and materials to create devices that optimize comfort, functionality, and durability. Device Fitting, Adjustment, and Maintenance: Fit prosthetic and orthotic devices to patients, ensuring proper alignment, comfort, and functionality. Make necessary adjustments to devices based on patient feedback, physical changes, or improvements in technology. Provide guidance on the maintenance and care of prosthetic and orthotic devices to patients and their caregivers. Patient Education and Support: Educate patients and their families about the use, care, and maintenance of prosthetic and orthotic devices. Offer counseling and support to help patients adapt to their devices and maximize their independence and mobility. Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate and optimize patient care plans. Maintain detailed documentation of patient assessments, treatment plans, device specifications, and outcomes. Quality Assurance and Compliance: Ensure adherence to hospital policies, regulatory standards, and best practices in prosthetic and orthotic care. Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient safety, satisfaction, and outcomes. Professional Development and Leadership: Stay abreast of advancements in prosthetic and orthotic technology, research, and clinical practices through continuing education and professional development. Provide mentorship and guidance to junior prosthetists and orthotists within the hospital setting.Requirements Education: Bachelors or Masters degree in Prosthetics and Orthotics or a related field. Certification: Certified Prosthetist/Orthotist (CPO) credential required. Experience: Significant experience in prosthetic and orthotic practice, preferably in a hospital setting with patients who have disabilities.( 10 years ) Skills: Strong clinical assessment skills, proficiency in CAD/CAM technology, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and a passion for enhancing the lives of patients with disabilities.,
