Job Description

    Primary Purpose: We are seeking a skilled and responsible Boiler Attendant Class I/Class II to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining steam pressure as per process requirements, conducting preventive and breakdown maintenance of the boiler and associated equipment, dosing chemicals, liaising with the Boiler Inspector, managing manpower, and ensuring proper cleaning and maintenance of the furnace and nozzlesKey Accountabilities/Activities:
    • Maintain steam pressure in the boiler as per process requirements to ensure smooth operations.
    • Perform preventive and breakdown maintenance of the boiler, pumps, pressure-reducing valves (PRV), pressure relief valves (PRS), steam pipelines, and other associated equipment.
    • Dose chemicals in the boiler as per the schedule provided to maintain water quality and prevent scale formation.
    • Liaise with the Boiler Inspector to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and address any concerns or issues.
    • Handle the manpower, including fireman and laborers, effectively to ensure efficient and safe boiler operations.
    • Timely clean the furnace, nozzles, and other boiler components to maintain optimal performance and efficiency.
    • Maintain accurate records related to fuel received, fuel testing, fuel consumption, fuel rejection, and any other relevant data.
    • Conduct proper blowdown procedures to remove impurities and maintain water quality in the boiler.
    • Fill in the logbook accurately and completely at the end of each shift, documenting relevant operational parameters and activities.
    • Perform any additional tasks assigned by seniors or supervisors to support the smooth functioning of the boiler operations.
    • Conduct preventive and breakdown maintenance of the water softener and reverse osmosis (RO) plant as required.
    • Keep records of softener operation and salt consumption to monitor and control water quality.
    • Ensure tools and tackles used in boiler operations are in workable condition and maintain records of their maintenance and availability.
    • Account for all consumables used in boiler operations and maintain records to track usage and replenishment needs.
    • Attend to any mechanical breakdowns that occur during the shift, promptly troubleshooting and rectifying the issues to minimize downtime.
    • Maintain cleanliness in the boiler section, including the boiler room and associated equipment.
    • Adhere to all safety guidelines and regulations to ensure a safe working environment.
    Qualification:Essential: ITI / XII / GraduateExperience:Essential: Class I/ Class II Certification (whichever is applicable)
    • Valid Boiler Attendant Class I/Class II certification.
    • 5 years of proven experience in operating and maintaining boilers, preferably in an industrial setting.
    • Strong knowledge of boiler operations, maintenance procedures, and safety protocols.
    • Familiarity with dosing chemicals and water treatment processes for boiler feedwater.
    • Ability to liaise effectively with regulatory authorities, such as the Boiler Inspector.
    • Excellent organizational and time management skills to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
    • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities to address mechanical breakdowns and operational issues.
    • Detail-oriented with good record-keeping skills to maintain accurate logs and records.
    • Physical stamina and ability to work in a high-pressure and demanding environment.
    • Good communication skills to collaborate with team members and convey information effectively.
    • Proactive attitude with a commitment to safety, efficiency, and continuous improvement.
    • Knowledge of relevant regulations and standards related to boiler operations and maintenance.
    Work Environment: 24 X 6 (6 days a week)Shift Details: General Shift. (09:00 AM 5:00 PM), Shift might rotate
