Job Description

    Primary Purpose:We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Field Supervisor to join our milk procurement team. As a Field Supervisor, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth and efficient collection of milk from farmers and maintaining quality standards throughout the process. Your primary responsibility will be to oversee milk collection operations, monitor cleanliness and hygiene, and implement best practices for clean milk production.Key Accountabilities/Activities:Milk Production and Collection Analysis:
    • Conduct surveys of milk production, milk collection by other dairies, and surplus milk, including the latest milk procurement price and payment methods.
    VLCC Management:
    • Submit survey reports to the Taluka coordinator to support the opening of new Village Level Collection Centers (VLCC).
    • Totally involved in opening new VLCCs with all necessary documents and infrastructure.
    Quality Assurance and Compliance:
    • Implement clean milk production and quality assurance systems at the farmer level.
    • Monitor sanitary conditions and hygiene at animal housing and suggest measures for maintaining cleanliness.
    • Monitor milk payment to farmers as per the dairy rate chart, conduct regular audits, and maintain records.
    • Ensure hygiene and sanitation practices are followed before milking, during milking, and after milking.
    • Create awareness about mastitis, its control, care, and management of animals suffering from mastitis.
    • Ensure the cleanliness of utensils used for milking and keeping milk before delivery at a collection center.
    • Ensure measures to reduce stress to the animals due to weather, housing, and environment.
    Supervision and Training:
    • Supervise cleaning and sanitation at milk collection points and their surroundings.
    • Guide farmers on the use of stainless steel (SS) vessels for bringing milk to the VLCC and explain the ill effects of using plastic containers.
    • Train the Secretary on rodent, fly, mosquito, and vermin control at the VLCC.
    • Supervise milk collection, testing, and handling of equipment at the VLCC.
    • Ensure all testing equipment, chemicals, and glassware are available for the smooth running of milk testing operations.
    • Train Milk Testers on milk testing procedures.
    • Ensure timely stamping and calibration of milk measuring and testing equipment at the VLCC.
    • Ensure all the VLCC and transporters are registered under the Food Safety Act (FSSAI).
    • Check the cleanliness of milk cans delivered at the VLCC and provide feedback to dock staff.
    • Supervise the handling of collected milk at the VLCC until dispatch and protection of high temperature.
    • Monitor foreign material in milk delivered by farmers and collected milk at the VLCC and suggest appropriate measures.
    • Monitor the cleanliness of vehicles and staff, and train transport staff on maintaining hygiene and cleanliness.
    • Ensure that the vehicle meets all the requirements to prevent milk exposure to rain and heat.
    • Train the Secretary and transporters on requirements under the Food Safety Act and procedures of milk sampling.
    • Train the Secretary on detecting milk for its quality, freshness, and adulterants.
    • Scrutinize milk reception reports at the chilling center, provide feedback to the Secretary on deviations, and ensure corrective measures.
    • Monitor vehicle and reception timings at the dock and take action in case of deviations.
    • Minimize the loss to farmers, VLCC, and the organization due to poor quality of milk.
    Qualification:Essential: Any GraduateExperience:Essential: 3-5 Years of experience in Dairy Industry
    • Dairy Industry Knowledge: A solid understanding of the dairy industry, including milk production, collection, and processing processes, is essential. Familiarity with quality standards, milk testing procedures, and relevant regulations is necessary to ensure compliance and maintain milk quality.
