Infection Control Nurse Position: Infection Control Nurse Location: HCG Cancer Center, Vadodara Work Experience: 1 -3 Year(s) Qualification: B.Sc (Nursing) Description: Monitoring and maintaining infection control indicatorsLiaise closely with the hospital microbiology laboratory for scrutiny of inpatients investigation reports to detect pathogenesisCorrelates the pathogenic organisms in the respected areas in the hospitalCollects and records data daily the number and time of infections etc using the established system and proceduresExamines the medical records of the concerned patient, right from the time of admission. Doubts are cleared by checking with the nurses, doctors and patients accordingly and documenting itInterpret microbiology reports to relevant nursing staffCompiling the data in the logbook daily while on rounds and also a monthly report of statistical data to the ICC, which is neatly tabulatedSupervise and advice on isolation techniques generally and in specific clinical situationsProvide clinical advice and support to nurses, health care workers and non -clinical personnel on infection control issuesEstablishes a follow up surveillance of discharged patientsReviews all infection data with chairman of ICCIdentify potential infection hazards and suggest appropriate remedial action to relevant personnel, e.g. use of sharps, appropriate use of gloves, footwear etcMaintains records of needle stick injuries and post exposure prophylaxisPoint surveillance and spot surveillanceApply Online ,
